What is an Inverter A/C?

An inverter air conditioner is an air conditioning unit that has technology that throttles the speed of the compressor motor so that it always runs at the optimal speed to keep a room at the set temperature. When the unit is turned on, it initially starts off the compressor at a slow speed and builds up to the required speed based on sensor inputs. This throttling keeps energy consumption at a minimum, reduces noise and puts less wear and tear on the moving parts.

What is HVAC?

HVAC is short for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. HVAC is most often used to depict the whole heating and cooling system consisting of the duct work, air filters, humidification controls, and registers.

What regular maintenance do air conditioning systems need?

This mostly depends on the hours of use. Air conditioning units that run 24/7 will need servicing more often than those that run for only 8 hours per day. Ideally the goal is to keep all the filters, vents, heat exchangers and pipes free of obstructions, debris, dirt, dust or anything else that shouldn’t be there.

How do I know if I have an existing warranty on my air conditioner unit?

The quickest way is to locate the label on the outer surface of the equipment for the date manufactured. If the equipment is less than five years old it may have a warranty, depending on the model. Warranty terms and conditions require an approved installer and maintenance by approved service personnel. Be sure to register on our warranty page after having a unit installed.

Do I need to change my filter regularly?

Split units do not require air filter replacements, only regular cleaning or washing. If the filters become too dirty to clean however, you will require a replacement filter. It is important to keep the filters clean to significantly reduce allergens, pollen and your electric bill. With regular servicing, we will always recommend when it’s time to replace your filters.

Is my air conditioning supposed to make any noise?

No. Our units are the quietest in the industry. The quieter the unit, the more enjoyable and comfortable the environment is. If the unit becomes damaged for any reason, that may contribute to the noise coming from the unit. Ask our maintenance personnel on their next service visit to check it out.

At what temperature should I set my thermostat?

Whatever temperature you’re comfortable at. I personally like a temperature of 26°C while my wife likes 23°C. The unit will perform efficiently without an increase in your electric bill as long as you keep your doors and windows closed.

I live right on the beachfront. Can my unit handle the salty year?

Yes, all our units were designed to handle the salty air. They won’t rust or deteriorate even under the harshest natural conditions

How long will my unit last?

Your unit should last upwards of 10 years. This will of course depend on your usage and care and frequency of maintenance.

Is the unit a true 50Hz unit?

Yes, 100%

Can I service the unit myself or have non-Gree party service it?

Only certified Gree Technicians are allowed work on or service Gree units. If anyone else works on it, it will void the warranty.

What if I am not happy with the installation?

Call us at 876-974-3001… We will be happy to resolve it and make it right.

Do you have any references?

Our units are installed in most hotels, commercial shops, housing developments etc. Just look around and you’ll see a Gree unit.

Will you install a unit I bought from someone else?

We will install any Gree AC Unit

How do I know if my A/C unit is big enough?

Bigger isn’t always better; its performance and efficiency that count. Before purchasing a replacement system you should always make sure your system is sized properly to match your needs and budget. Your Gree engineer will thoroughly assess your location and comfort requirements to determine the proper size and make the appropriate recommendation.

How can I increase the efficiency and life of air conditioner?

A few quick tips:

Have your system regularly maintained.

Keep your windows and doors closed when unit is on.

Don’t iron in your air conditioned room

Install shades, drapes, shutters, or screens on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to keep room temperatures at moderate levels.

Don’t put anything hot in front of the A/C unit

How do I know which unit is right for me?

How much does it cost?

Every installation is different. It depends on the size of the room to cool, the number of people, the heat generated by equipment, the height of the ceiling and many more factors including installation materials. What information will you need from me?

How long will it take to have my unit installed?

Our sales specialist will speak with you immediately. A site visit may take up to 2 days and under normal circumstances, the installation should take place within 3 days after payment is received

Do I get any warranty with my purchase?

Yes, you get 5 years on the compressor, 3 years on the evaporator, and 10 days on workmanship

What if my unit stops working?

Though very uncommon; during the warranty period: Just call us and we will send our technicians to replace the defective part covered under manufacturers’ warranty, there will be no charge for the replacement part. After the warranty period, just call us, we will come and repair the unit, we keep all parts in stock. Warranty does not cover labour charges.

What is your refund policy?
